If you’re not familiar with BKK you should look into it. They are a hook company that makes a wonderful product line of high quality products. I can’t remember when I first heard of them but seeing them on Nomad Design lures was my first experience with them. Since then I wanted to have them at the shop. We’ve sold Gamakatsu forever and brought in more and more Owner over the years but it was time for something new. The timing was right because BKK was finally going to be distributed in the USA.

When I heard BKK was going to be at ICAST 2021 I was excited because this would b my first experience seeing their entire lineup, or at least what was going to be available in the USA. They had a double booth in a weird section of the facility and since their products are so small it looked like they didn’t have a lot of stuff but their lineup turned out to be pretty robust.

The first thing that caught my attention was their treble hooks, which are just crazy sharp and super aggressive. They remind you of owner but somehow looked better. Then I saw their assist hooks and relaized that this is a game changer. If you fish jigs for tuna and reef fish you have to swap out your assist hooks for BKK. The hook quality is better as is all the other components like the braid and other natural and synthetic materials they use to the the product. The images don’t do them justice.

It’s easy to overlook hooks. You’ve probably been fishing with low end to medium end hooks your entire life and haven’t experienced top of the line hooks, but just like fishing with good line, it is important. It’s going to lead to more hookups, more fish to the boat which translates into more fun. So I guess what I’m saying is that BKK = fun. Buy a pack and give them a try. I think you’ll like them.
